  7. These are from Rose Levy Berenbaum's "Christmas Cookies," and are quite good.

  9. Ingredients:
  10. 1 1/3 cups UNSALTED coarsely chopped cashews
  11. 2 cups unbleached white flour
  12. 3/4 tsp baking powder
  13. 3/4 tsp baking soda
  14. 1/2 tsp salt
  15. 3/4 cup + 2 tbs light brown sugar
  16. 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  17. 1 egg
  18. 1 tsp vanilla
  19. 1/2 cup sour cream
  20.  
  21. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Soften butter.  Mix flour, baking powder and soda,
  22.  salt, and cashews.  Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs and vanilla.  Mix in
  23. sour cream.  Add flour mixture. Drop dough by teaspoons onto greased cookie
  24. sheets.  Bake 10-15 minutes until golden brown.  Makes roughly 6 dozen.
